Conventions of the Genre: Indie

Indie videos vary as much as the genre itself. The genre includes slower, more passionate songs, and also songs that are lively and could be 'moshed' to. As videos act to mirror and compliment the song, they too are either slower or can be lively.

Our song in particular is quite lively and energetic, so we'll focus on videos that are also like this.

Most Indie videos that are lively and energetic use a lot of colour and sometimes use humorous characters, like we plan to. The vibrant colours increase the sense of consciousness and energy and compliment the song very well. At some point, we will incorporate this in with our plans, in order to be 'in-keeping' with the genre conventions.

There is also quite a large focus on the band and the song being sung, so this also needs to be focussed on quite a lot throughout the video.

Mainly, Indie videos are fun, confident and empowering. Hard standards to live up to, but we plan to do well :)
